Yacht racing in the park: 126 years and more fun than ever!
Introductory sessions of radio-controlled yachts with individual instruction provided by Christchurch Model Yacht Club's members.
Come along to the Christchurch Model Yacht Club clubhouse in North Hagley Park and have a go at model yacht sailing with club members on Victoria Lake.
The Club was established in 1898 and is New Zealand’s oldest Model Yacht Club. The Club has been running for 126 years. Historic model yachts from the last century will be on display.
Modern radio-controlled yachts will be available for anyone to try, to experience this regatta-on-the-lake. We will provide one-on-one supervised tuition using these state-of-the-art model yachts.
The Christchurch Model Yacht Club Clubhouse is beside the Armagh Street carpark, Botanic Gardens. The event will be held at the club's jetty, on Victoria Lake.
Suitable for children and adults. Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian.
