Workshop: Science and science fiction writing with Octavia Cade

Want to know how to more effectively insert science into your short science fiction stories, or how to make your made-up technologies sound convincing? This is the workshop for you.

Bring a pen and paper, or laptop if that’s what you prefer to work on. This two-hour workshop is open to everyone over 16 years of age.

Bookings required and tickets are $10 per person. Octavia Cade is a New Zealand writer with a PhD in science communication. She's sold close to 50 short stories, won three Sir Julius Vogel awards and was the 2020 writer in residence at Massey University. Octavia is a 2020 Arts Centre Creative Resident.

Visit the Art Gallery website for information about another event with Octavia Cade, where she will read from her novel The Ghost of Matter followed by a tour of Rutherford's Den.
