Winter Blanket Collection - supporting the Salvation Army
We’re proud to be partnering with the Salvation Army and the Central City Business Association (CCBA) this winter to collect blankets to support locals in need.
A Christchurch Tram will be parked in Cathedral Square between 11am and 2pm on Friday 28 July to receive spare blankets from donors which will then be collected by the Salvation Army to be distributed to those who need additional assistance during the colder season.
A complimentary Christchurch Tram ticket will be given in exchange for blanket donations.
Christchurch Attractions CEO Sue Sullivan says "We are delighted to be working with the Salvation Army and the CCBA for such an important cause. The winter season is particularly severe in Christchurch overnight, so being able to support our community with donated blankets is a great way to help those in need. We hope to see plenty of local Cantabrians joining us in Cathedral Square to support this fantastic initiative."
The organisations ask that donated blankets are either new or laundered used items and are very grateful for all donations.
