Victory

On 15 August 1945, New Zealand celebrated the end of World War II as the news of the Japanese surrender reached our shores.

The Air Force Museum of New Zealand commemorates the 75th anniversary of VJ (Victory over Japan) Day with a new photographic exhibition.

Featuring images drawn from our archives as a record of that momentous time, when the nation celebrated, and our Air Force began the gradual transition from war to peace.
