Unfortunate Females: finding the lost and fallen women of Christchurch

Was your female ancestor a destitute woman in 19th-century Christchurch? Come to this family history workshop and explore ways to uncover her hidden story.

This event is fully booked.

This will be an opportunity to develop hands-on research skills with the support of Tuakiri's Family History Librarians, using the online and print resources of Christchurch City Libraries.

The focus of the workshop will be on what resources are available and how to access them to explore the social history of Christchurch and the struggle of many abandoned and destitute women to survive.

The 90-minute workshop will take place in Wāhi Whakaako/Teaching Room on Tuakiri in Tūranga.
