Join Stephen Taylor from the Tramway Historical Society, tram driver and restorer, as he gives a talk exploring the history of the tram known as Hills Car #24.
Hills Car #24 was built in Christchurch by Boon & Co in 1920 and served as public transport for the city until trams ceased operation in 1954.
After spending time as a Sunday school house and a farm shed, #24 was acquired by the Tramway Historical Society in 1967.
The tram recently underwent a full restoration and as of 2024 is now in service as the most recent tram on the city tourist loop.
