The Yarns Men is an opportunity for men to come together to hear a guest speaker and have a yarn with some food.
This is an opportunity for men from all walks of life to hear an inspirational guest speaker and have a yarn over some food.
Our June speaker is Matt Wood. A former UK security pro turned Christchurch local with 27+ years on the front line. Diagnosed with OCD and ADHD later in life, Matt brings raw honesty, hard-won lessons and deep empathy to every conversation. From elite conflict training to studying therapy and human behaviour, he’s walked the walk.
Known for his “high-five” leadership style and focus on mental wellbeing, Matt’s the kind of bloke who’s keen for a real yarn — honest, down to earth and no fluff.
Disclaimer: The Yarns Men; are not mental health professionals. We are simply providing an opportunity for men to have an organic connection through good conversation. The stories and tips we share are not intended as mental health advice, but rather something to consider and discuss with a professional. Please do contact Matthew if you would like a recommendation for a counsellor or therapist.
