Summer in the Styx

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the sun wandering or kayaking through eight hectares of planted native forest, natural waterways and lakes at one of Christchurch’s brand-new regional parks.

Try your hand at a range of fun activities related to environmental monitoring, research and citizen science involving local wildlife, plants, water quality, Māori cultural values and local history.

Learn about Māori medicinal plants, weaving, bird monitoring, pest control, native insects and fish and wildlife management.

There will be live music, kayaking, guided walks, planting, a scavenger hunt and much more!

Food and refreshments are available.
