Risingholme Park and Homestead Tour

Find out about the history of Risingholme Park and Homestead by taking a morning or afternoon tour with us.

The tour is designed to share the history of Risingholme Homestead and Park – a heritage park that has a number of rare tree species from England, a notable Kauri tree, and a beautiful Category 2 heritage-listed building.

For the first 75 years, Risingholme was home to a number of prominent families, including the Reeves, Whites and Andersons. For the last 79 years, Risingholme Learning has been a key part of the community and adult education space in Canterbury positively contributing to the lives of learners from this site.

Come along and enjoy the garden, building and stories of this important community asset. To celebrate and capture the significant history of this place we have installed a pictorial timeline on the wall in the hallway of the Homestead.

Wheelchair access downstairs is available. Unfortunately, accessibility is limited due to the unevenness of the park grounds for the garden tour and there is no lift access to the 1st floor of the Homestead.
