Mitre10 Sparks 2025

One of Christchurch's most loved events, Mitre10 Sparks, is back. Featuring the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and dazzling fireworks, you don't want to miss it!

Sparks is back again in 2025 with our epic partner, Mitre10, and support from the wonderful Newstalk ZB.

Get your friends and whānau together to celebrate the 42nd year at our city's dazzling fireworks extravaganza, featuring the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Gather up your friends and whānau to enjoy a stunning string of lively tunes, both old and new, and soak up the Ōtautahi summer spirit.

No picnic? Onsite food vendors will offer a range of yummy kai. Register your interest in being a vendor at our events.

Here's everything else you need to know:

  • This is a FREE, all ages event
  • Entertainment from 6.30pm & main show 7.30pm
  • Fireworks will start at approx 9.30pm
  • Bring a picnic, or grab a bite to eat from the food trucks on-site. No glass please 
  • Bike stands will be located in Hagley Park opposite the roundabout over the Armagh Street
  • Mobility parking will be on Chester Street West (off Park Terrace) from 2pm. A mobility pass must be visible to gain access. An accessible viewing area is located next to the Front of House sound desk, with signage in place to point the way.
  • There will be a drop-off point on between Armagh Street and Chester Street East on the Cathedral Grammar side.
  • The botanic gardens’ Armagh Street car park will be closed to incoming traffic from 3.30pm. There are thousands of parks in and around the city. You can find them here
  • Head along to www.metroinfo.co.nz to find your nearest bus to take you into Mitre10 Sparks
  • This is a smoke and vape free event
  • Please keep all animals at home for this event
