Come and see what is happening with the major restoration of McLean's Mansion, a Category 1/Highly Significant heritage building and one of the nation's largest residential timber buildings.

McLean's Mansion will be open to the public for guided tours of the restoration to date. This is a unique chance to view the building's interior.

In the area where tours start and finish a display of historical and current information and items will be on view and McLean’s Mansion merchandise will be available for purchase.

The McLean's Mansion tours will commence every 15 minutes from 10am until the last tour at 3.45pm. Bookings are not required to join a tour; $10 per person entry fee to help with restoration fundraising.

As the Mansion is a construction site, health and safety requirements are paramount: personal protective equipment will be issued and each tour will be guided by experienced technical staff.

Sturdy footwear will be required for entry into the building: no jandals, sandals, high heels. Participants must be at least 14 years old.

This Christchurch Civic Trust event is held in association with McLean's Mansion Fundraising Group, McLean's Mansion Charitable Trust and Historic Places Canterbury and is a fundraising event for the ongoing restoration of McLean's Mansion.
