Matariki dawn planting

Join rongoā practitioners as they celebrate Matariki and puaka rising to signal the Maori New Year.

Please arrive at 6.45am to witness the dawn breaking with a karakia and tree planting as a symbol of new beginnings.

The dawn planting will be followed by sharing kai and our wishes for the year to come.

If dawn is a bit too early for you, we have a second family-friendly planting event at 10am. Meet at the Rongoā Garden on 567 Marshlands Road.

Dress warmly in sturdy footwear – gumboots and warm layers recommended.
