Manu Competition - Te Hāpua Halswell Summer Pool

Get amongst the fun and join our manu competitions this summer to win prizes and become the Christchurch City Council manu champion.

Pack your togs, towel, and sunscreen and gather your mates - show us what you’ve got at Te Hāpua Halswell Summer Pool on Sunday 10 December from midday to 2pm.

Four heats are being held at our pools across the city ahead of the grand final on Sunday 21 January 2024 at Jellie Park.

Enter the manu competition in one of four categories: under 13s, 13 to 18 years, open female and adult.

At the end of the competition season, the top three queens or kings of the manu will be awarded an official trophy and prizes. Spot prizes will also be distributed throughout the competition.

Better yet - the winners of the Christchurch City Council manu competition will get free entry to the Z Manu World Championships Ōtautahi Christchurch(external link) heat at Jellie Park in February 2024.

Thanks to our sponsor Streets, we’ve got free ice creams to give away – sweet.

Bring your whānau and friends – we'll see you there.

The general pool admission price applies. Please check out the pool status(external link) before you come.

Children aged 5 to 10 years (inclusive) are required to complete a deep-water swim test before using the deep end of the main pool.
