Lyttelton Antarctic Walk

Explore Lyttelton’s Antarctic history on a guided walk, following in the footsteps of Scott and Shackleton through this historic port town.

Grade: Beginner

Lyttelton has a rich Antarctic history with Scott and Shackleton both departing the Port on three voyages during the 'Heroic era'.  

The 3.5 km guided walk will start at Albion Square on London Street, with the points of interest explained by guides. The walk finishes back at Albion Square.

Dogs on leashes are welcome. Suitable for buggies.

Participants and their dependents (children must be supervised) must take full responsibility for their safety, health, and equipment while navigating varied terrain across public and private routes, wearing sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing, and carrying essential supplies, including water, food, and sun protection.
