How to make a Purerehua

This workshop teaches tamariki (ages five to 10) the history and use of the Purerehua (bullroarer). Decorate and sound your own instrument, ready to take home.

Also known as huhu, purorohu, turorohu, rangorango, wheororo, and around the world as bullroarers, this instrument creates a deep whirring sound when spun and is said to have connections to the rain.

Learn the history and use of the Purerehua, and create your own to take home. 

Suitable for ages 5 to 10.
