Governors Bay Jetty grand opening
After 12 long years, the highly anticipated grand opening of the Governors Bay Jetty will take place.
This is a free public event to celebrate the official opening and a community’s mahi to rebuild the much-loved Governors Bay Jetty.
Bring your friends and family and come and join us for this history-making event at Jetty Road in the stunning setting of Governors Bay.
What to expect:
- The road down to the jetty (from the bridge) will be closed to vehicles (foot traffic only)
- Naval Point flotilla, including trailer sailors, Coastguard, and waka ama (weather permitting)
- Official ceremony starts at 4pm
- Jetty will be open to the public once the ceremony is completed (around 4.30pm)
- Bar and food available from 3.30pm to 6.30pm
Parking
- There is limited parking in Governors Bay
- Locals – please walk to the event
- Parking will be available on the grounds of Governors Bay School
- $5 a car (cash only)
