Festival of Brass
The 2025 Festival of Brass brings together New Zealand’s best brass and percussion musicians, along with bands from Australia, for five days of performances.
All events are free of charge, with the exception of the prestigious Evening of Melody, on Wednesday 2 July, 8pm in the James Hay Theatre.
Wednesday and Thursday showcase individual and ensemble performances, and on Friday and Saturday, see the bands battle it out on stage in the Douglas Lilburn Auditorium and James Hay Theatre.
Sunday, the Parade of Bands is a free family-friendly event featuring bands from all over New Zealand and Australia. As well as the marching bands, who will parade around Victoria Square along Armagh and Colombo streets, there will be face painting, entertainment, and delicious food vendors within Victoria Square.
