Te Whakairo - Ngā Kī O Te Tai Ao

Two New Zealand skilled carvers bring their whakairo to Antarctica, honouring our guardianship of the Ross Sea, the world's largest marine protected area.

A documentary created by Vanessa Wells, a local filmmaker, voice-over artist, presenter, actor and improviser. 

Two talented carvers from each end of Aotearoa New Zealand take their whakairo (carving) to Antarctica in response to New Zealand's kaitiakitanga (guardianship) of the world’s largest marine protected area - The Ross Sea.
