Heritage Expeditions are New Zealand’s family-owned and operated expedition cruise pioneers and have been exploring New Zealand’s Subantarctic Islands and Antarctica’s Ross Sea for more than 35 years.

Their partnership with Ngāi Tahu and the Murihiku ki te Tonga programme is researching and monitoring the ocean from Murihiku to Antarctica for the effective protection and management of Te Taiao Moana, and for the benefit of New Zealand, and the World.

The programme is focused on creating a greater understanding of New Zealand’s Subantarctic Islands, Southern Ocean, and the Ross Sea and their importance to Ngai Tahu and New Zealand from a climate, biodiversity, cultural and sustainability perspective.
