City Nature Challenge and Planting Prep

Take part in the City Nature Challenge with the Avon-Heathcote Ihutai Estuary Trust at South New Brighton Park.

Take part in the City Nature Challenge with the Ihutai Estuary Trust at South New Brighton Domain!

Using iNaturalist, we’ll work together to photograph and record as many plant and wildlife species as we can, competing alongside others in Christchurch to be the city with the most observations.

If you can, bring a phone with the free iNaturalist NZ app installed already. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to just take photos and notes on the day, you can upload your findings at a later date.

The observation session will be followed by a maintenance session until 4pm where we will be readying the reserve for Autumn planting. We'd love you to stick around and help out if you can!

Please meet by the Bridge Street entrance to South New Brighton Domain by the picnic tables.
