Brainy Beanies Exhibition

The Brainy Beanies Exhibition showcases handcrafted beanies from NZ communities to support those affected by brain tumours.

The Brainy Beanies Exhibition, brought to you by Brain Tumour Support NZ, is making its Christchurch debut. More than just a fundraiser, this special event brings together crafters from across New Zealand to create and donate handcrafted beanies, with every dollar raised supporting individuals and whānau affected by brain tumours.

Using a variety of techniques — knitting, crocheting, felting, and textile arts — each beanie is a one-of-a-kind creation, reflecting the talent, care, and creativity of its maker. Every beanie carries a Brainy Beanie label, a simple but powerful reminder that each beanie has been made with love by someone who cares.

At the exhibition, visitors will be immersed in a vibrant display of handcrafted beanies, each telling its own story. From cozy classics to intricate, artistic designs, some creations are so unique, they border on wearable art. Every beanie on display will be available for purchase, with proceeds directly funding Brain Tumour Support NZ’s essential services, including the Brain Box care packages provided to newly diagnosed patients.

This marks the first time Brainy Beanies comes to Christchurch, offering locals a chance to be part of this heartwarming movement. By attending, visitors don’t just witness a celebration of craftsmanship and community—they become part of a cause that brings comfort, connection, and support to those facing the challenges of a brain tumour across New Zealand.
