Proposed temporary road closures for Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park 2022, Armageddon Expo 2022, Gebbies Pass Hill Climb, and Little River Hill Climb

The Council has received application for the temporary closure of the following road, for the following events, on the dates and times shown below.

Coca-cola Christmas in the Park 2022

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • Armagh Street, between Cranmer Square and Park Terrace
  • Park Terrace, between Bealey Avenue and Dorset Street
  • Park Terrace, between Armagh Street and Chester Street West
  • Rolleston Avenue, between Armagh Street and Gloucester Street

Proposed periods of closures:

  • From 9pm to 11.30pm Saturday, 26 November 2022 or Sunday, 27 November 2022

Armageddon Expo 2022

Road proposed to be closed:

  • Cathedral Square, between Colombo Street and Worcester Street

Proposed periods of closure

  • From 6am Saturday, 10 December 2022 to 6pm Sunday, 11 December 2022

Gebbies Pass Hill Climb 2022

Road proposed to be closed:

  • Summit Road, between Gebbies Pass and Ahuriri Reserve (7.9km South of Worsleys Road)

Proposed periods of closure:

  • From 9am to 6pm Saturday, 15 October 2022

Little River Hill Climb 2022

Road proposed to be closed:

  • Kinloch Road, between 1300m North of Bossu Road and 100m South of Okuti Valley Road

Proposed period of closure:

  • From 9am to 6pm Sunday, 16 October 2022

These closures are proposed to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974. The proposed closures will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, and vehicles directly involved with the events.

No resident access will be available during the period of these proposed closures.

Any person who wishes to object to the proposed closure may do so in writing to the Council Secretary, Christchurch City Council, PO Box 73016, Christchurch, no later than 9.00am Tuesday 13 September 2022.
