Further notice of election and declaration of elected candidates

Nominations have now closed for the 2022 triennial local authority elections. Listed below are details of the confirmed candidates for Christchurch City Council.

Where elections are required they will be conducted by postal voting using the First Past the Post electoral system. Voting will open on Friday 16 September 2022 and will close at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2022.

Enrolment and Special Voting Arrangements

Christchurch City Council residents who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these elections can enrol by calling 0800 36 76 56, visiting the Electoral Commission website: www.vote.nz(external link), by texting your name and address to 3676 to get a form sent to you or by email request to enquiries@elections.govt.nz up to 4pm on Friday 7 October 2022.

Christchurch City Council ratepayers who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these elections can obtain enrolment forms at Christchurch City Council Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street, ccc.govt.nz/elections or phoning 03 941 8581 up to 4pm on Friday 7 October 2022. Online applications for ratepayer elector registration can also be made online: www.electionz.com/ratepayer.(external link)

Special voting facilities for the above elections will be available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, from Friday 16 September until Friday 7 October at:

  • Fendalton Service Centre, 4 Jeffreys Road, Fendalton
  • Hornby Service Centre, 2/8 Goulding Avenue, Hornby
  • Linwood Service Centre, Eastgate Mall, first floor, Corner Buckleys Road and Linwood Avenue
  • Beckenham Service Centre, 66 Colombo Street, Beckenham
  • Te Hāpua Halswell Service Centre, 341 Halswell Road, Halswell
  • Shirley Service Centre, 36 Marshland Road, Shirley.
