Proposed temporary road closures for Pak'NSave Triathlon Festival, Riccarton Community Church Event and New Brighton Seaside Christmas Parade

The Council has received applications for the temporary closures of the following roads, for the following events, on the dates and times shown below.

Pak’nSave Triathlon Festival

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • Greywacke Road, between Johns Road and Sawyers Arms Road

  • Broughs Road, between McLeans Island Road and Sawyers Arms Road

  • Sawyers Arms Road, between Broughs Road and Greywacke Road

 

Proposed periods of closures:

  • From 7.30am to 10.00am Sunday, 28 November 2021

Riccarton Community Church Event

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • Elizabeth Street, between 40 Elizabeth Street and Division Street

Proposed period of closure:

  • From 8.30am to 3.00pm Sunday, 7 November 2021

New Brighton Seaside Christmas Parade 2021

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • Beresford Street, between Oram Avenue and Marine Parade

  • Brighton Mall, between Union Street and Beresford Street

  • Hawke Street, between Marine Parade and Shaw Avenue

  • Marine Parade, between Lonsdale Street and Hood Street

  • Seaview Road, between Hardy Street and Union Street

  • Shaw Avenue, between Hawke Street and Seaview Road

  • Union Street, between Beresford Street and Brighton Mall 

Proposed periods of closures:

  • From 9.00am to 12.00pm Saturday, 11 December 2021


These closures are proposed to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974. The proposed closures will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, and vehicles directly involved with the events.

No resident access will be available during the period of these proposed closures.

Any person who wishes to object to these proposed closure may do so in writing to the Council Secretary, Christchurch City Council, PO Box 73016, Christchurch, no later than 9.00am Monday 30 August 2021.
