The Council has approved the temporary closures of the following roads, for the following events, on the dates and times shown below.
Christchurch Arts Festival opening - Roads to be closed
Oxford Terrace
- From Worcester Boulevard to Cashel Street
Periods of closure:
- From 4.45pm to 10pm Friday, 26 July 2019
- And from 6pm to 10pm Saturday, 27 July 2019
- A Rain day contingency is to be from 6pm to 10pm Sunday, 28 July 2019.
Hereford Street
- From 88 Hereford Street to Cambridge Terrace
Periods of closure:
- From 6pm to 10pm Friday, 26 July 2019
- And from 6pm to 10pm Saturday, 27 July 2019
- A Rain day contingency is to be from 6pm to 10pm Sunday, 28 July 2019
New Regent Street Carnival - Road to be closed
New Regent Street

Period of closure:
- From 8pm to midnight Saturday, 20 July 2019
These closures are to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974.
The proposed closure will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, vehicles directly involved with the event, Christchurch tramways vehicles and public transport services.
