Proposed District Plan Changes

1 On 2 May 2015, the Christchurch City Council publicly notified 31 proposals and associated planning maps to replace some of the provisions of the operative Christchurch City Plan and the Banks Peninsula District Plan. The period for making submissions on those proposals closed on 15 June 2015. Those submissions are now available for public inspection.

2 Any submissions received after 15 June 2015 will only be accepted following a decision by the Chairperson of the Hearings Panel under Clause 5 of Schedule 3 of the Canterbury Earthquake (Christchurch Replacement District Plan) Order 2014. Late submissions already accepted by the Chairperson have been included in the bundle of submissions now available for public inspection. If the Chairperson makes a decision to accept any other late submissions they will be the subject of a separate public notice.

3 The submissions may be inspected during normal office hours at any of the Council’s Service Centre offices, Council Libraries and online at www.proposeddistrictplan.ccc.govt.nz (external link)(external link)For details of your nearest Service Centre or Library, please telephone 941 8999.

4 The following persons may make a further submission:

  • The Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery and the Minister for the Environment.
  • Any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest.
  • Any person that has an interest in the proposal greater than the interest that the general public has.
  • Christchurch City Council.

5 Any further submission must be limited to a matter in support of, or in opposition to, any relevant submission made on the proposals and must state whether or not you wish to be heard.

6 The further submission must be served on the Christchurch City Council. A copy must also be served by the further submitter on the original submitter within five working days after the further submission is served on the Christchurch City Council.

7 To make a further submission, send or deliver a written submission in the prescribed form to the Christchurch City Council at:

Further submission forms are available at all Council Service Centre Offices and Libraries.

8 The period for making further submissions closes on Monday 13 July 2015.

9 The Christchurch City Council will publish all further submissions online at www.proposeddistrictplan.ccc.govt.nz (external link)(external link)not later than 10 working days after the closing date for further submissions.
