Proposed Bio-filter Easement

This is public notice in accordance with the requirements of section 48 (2) of the Reserves Act 1977 (Act) that the Council is proposing to construct a bio-filter adjacent to the sewer trunk main to treat hydrogen sulphide gas from the trunk main. Officers will be recommending to the Council that it grant an easement unto itself pursuant to the requirements of section 48(6) of the Act over approximately 105 square metres of the land described in Schedule A below in which to establish the necessary infrastructure for the bio-filter. The bio-filter will be above ground level and appear to be a bark bed within a 10m x 5m raised timber frame.  A fan chamber and associated underground services will be included in the easement.

Schedule A 

Approximately 105 square metres of local purpose (esplanade) reserve being:

  • Section 1 SO 19742 Certificate of Title reference 176820, 1,973 square metres,  and
  • Lot 2 DP 51483 Certificate of Title reference CB36B/1272, 2,802 square metres.

Right of Submission 

Persons or organizations who wish to make a submission or object to the proposed easement must do so in writing by 5pm 13th October 2017 addressed to:
