Proposed temporary road closures

The Council has received applications for the temporary closure of the following roads for the following events

Lyttelton Farmers Market

Road proposed to be closed

  • London Street from Canterbury Street to Oxford Street

Proposed period of closures

  • From 7:30am to 2pm every Saturday from 11 October 2025 to 3 October 2026

Gebbies Pass Hill Climb

Road proposed to be closed

  • Summit Road from the Northern edge of Ahuriri Reserve to Gebbies pass Road

Proposed period of closure

  • From 9am to 6pm Saturday 18 October 2025

Crater Rim Ultra

Road proposed to be closed

  • Summit Road from the Northern edge of Ahuriri Reserve to Gebbies pass Road

Proposed period of closure

  • From 6am to 8 pm Sunday, 19 October 2025

 


Little River Hill Climb

Road Proposed to be closed

  • Kinloch Road from Okuti Valley Road to Bossu Road

Proposed Period of Closure

  • From 9am to 6pm Sunday 19 October 2025

Riccarton Community Church Event

Roads proposed to be closed

  • Elizabeth Street from Division Street to #40 Elizabeth Street
  • Division Street from 20metres north of Elizabeth Street to Elizabeth Street 

Proposed Period of closures

  • From 8:30 am to 3pm Sunday, 2 November 2025

Objecting to the proposed closure

These closures are proposed to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974.

The proposed closures will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, public transport services, vehicles directly involved with the event and event permit holders.

No access will be available to vehicles that do not hold an event permit for access during the period of these proposed closures.

Any person who wishes to object to the proposed closure may do so in writing to the Council Secretary, Christchurch City Council, PO Box 73016, Christchurch, no later than 9am on Thursday 18 September 2025.
