Proposed Temporary Road Closures - Banks Peninsula A&P Show - Coast to Coast - Electric Avenue Music Festival

The Council has received applications for the temporary closures of the following roads, for the following events, on the dates and times shown below.

Banks Peninsula A&P Show 2024

Road Proposed to be closed

Western Valley Road from Christchurch Akaroa Road to Church Road

Proposed Period of Closure

From 6am to 6pm on Saturday, 20 January 2024

Coast to Coast 2024 

Road Proposed to be closed

Lower Styx Road from Marshland Road to 180 metres East of Marshland Road.

Proposed Period of Closure

From 11am to 8pm on Saturday, 10 February 2024

Road Proposed to be closed

Marine Parade from Hawke Street to Beresford Street

Proposed Period of Closure

From 9am on Saturday, 10 February 2024 to 1 am on Sunday, 11 February 2024

Electric Avenue Music Festival 2024 

Roads Proposed to be closed

Rolleston Avenue from Gloucester Street to Armagh Street

Armagh Street from Park Terrace to Cranmer Square West

Park Terrace from Armagh Street to Chester Street West

Park Terrace from Dorset Street to Bealey Avenue

Proposed Period of Closure

From 7pm to 11pm Saturday, 24 February 2024

 

These closures are proposed to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974. The proposed closures will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, scheduled public transport and vehicles directly involved with the events.

No resident access will be available during the period of these proposed closures.

Any person who wishes to object to the proposed closure may do so in writing to the Council Secretary, Christchurch

City Council, PO Box 73016, Christchurch, no later than 5pm Wednesday, 6 December 2023
