Proposed Temporary Road Closures - Lake Rua Triathlon - Foo Fighters Concert - Watangi Day Rememberance Event

The Council has received applications for the temporary closures of the following roads, for the following events, on the dates and times shown below.

Lake Rua Triathlon

Roads proposed to be closed

Lakes Way - Entire Length

Outlook Place - Entire Length

Lakeside Place - Entire Length

Proposed period of closures

From 7:30 am to 9.45am am on Sunday, 17 December 2023

These closures are in addition to those advertised for this event.

Foo Fighters Concert

Roads proposed to be closed

Jack Hinton Drive from Whiteleigh Ave to Twigger Street

Twigger Street from Lincoln Road to Jack Hinton Drive

Proposed period of closures

From 3pm to 11:59pm 24 January 2024

Road proposed to be closed

Whiteleigh Ave from Lincoln Road to Show Place

Proposed period of closure

From 9:30pm to 11:59pm 24 January 2024

Waitangi Day Remembrance Event

Road proposed to be closed

Okains Bay Road from Back Road to 275metres North East of Back Road  

Proposed period of closure

From 7am to 5pm 06 February 2024

These closures are proposed to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974. The proposed closures will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, scheduled public transport and vehicles directly involved with the events.

No resident access will be available during the period of these proposed closures.

Any person who wishes to object to the proposed closure may do so in writing to the Council Secretary, Christchurch

City Council, PO Box 73016, Christchurch, no later than 5pm Monday, 20 November 2023
