The nomination period to fill the extraordinary vacancy for an Innes Ward member on the Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board has now closed. Seven nominations have been received:

An election is required to determine the successful candidate and will be conducted by postal voting. Voting will open on Thursday 26 January and close at 12 noon on Friday 17 February 2023.
Enrolment and Special Voting Arrangements
Residential electors within the Innes Ward who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this by-election can enrol or amend their enrolment details on the electoral roll before 5pm Thursday 16 February 2023:
Innes Ward ratepayers who live outside the Innes Ward and who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this by-election can enrol as a ratepayer elector on or before 5pm Thursday 16 February 2023 by completing and returning a ratepayer enrolment form, available from the Christchurch City Council Electoral Officer or website.
Special voting facilities for the by-election will be available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm between Thursday 26 January and noon on Friday 17 February 2023 from:
