Details

What are we doing?

On Tuesday 27 April until mid-May (weather dependent), we will start night works on the Main South Road and Curletts Road intersection. We will be installing new drainage, kerbing, ducting and traffic signal upgrades, which will involve excavating across the intersection at a number of locations. During the night the intersection will remain open but will reduced to one lane on Curletts Road. The two lanes will be reopened at 6am each day.

Traffic Impacts

This work must be done during the night when traffic flows are reduced. Doing this during the day would cause excessive congestion and increase journey times for the travelling public.

At night, from 7pm, alternating lane closures will allow works to be carried out without needing to detour traffic. Some minor delays may be experienced. Normal passage of traffic will be restored by 6am each day.

Noise Impacts

Regrettably these works will generate some noise which is unavoidable. You will notice machinery, light and noise coming from the site. However, to minimise disruption to residents we will endeavour to undertake particularly noisy activities at the start of the shift and aim to complete these by 10pm.
