Why |
A section of bank recently collapsed. Due to its size and proximity to the road we decided to undertake repairs as soon as possible before the collapse gets worse. |
Where |
Waimea Terrace – the bank slump is located approximately 30 metres upstream of the Malcolm Avenue bridge. |
When |
Work is expected to start on Monday 7 October 2019 through to Monday 14 October 2019. |

- Rock will be used to line the lower section of the riverbank, the slump will then be backfilled using suitable material. The bank will then be reinstated with topsoil and hydro-seeded.
- The section of riverbank to be repaired will be closed due to the machinery used. Traffic management will be in place however there shouldn’t be any problems with accessing property.
- We anticipate this work should not take more than a week to complete but this will depend on the weather.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
