The next step is for the Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board to consider the staff report before making their recommendation to the Council who will have the final decision.

What we’re doing

We are making a change on Chalmers Street so it is safer to get around Hornby Mall.

Reducing the existing 50 km/h speed limit to 30 km/h will make it safer for all pedestrian, vehicle and bus interactions.

What we're asking

Is there anything we need to know before carrying out these changes?

For speed limits to be effective, they need to be understood and supported by the community. That’s why we want to hear from you.
