Development Christchurch Limited (DCL) requires a lease from Christchurch City Council for construction and delivery of the hot pools project.
You can find out more about the project at DCL's website(external link).
The idea for a pool development was first raised by local residents during the council-led New Brighton Suburban Centre Master Plan process in 2012. Under the Local Government Act, Christchurch City Council must consider public feedback when deciding whether or not to grant a lease in excess of six months.
The construction period for the pools will be longer than six months and DCL have requested a lease for 18 months plus a six (6) month right of renewal. The proposed lease areas are shown on the plan below as area B being 5770m2 and area C being 4830m2, being part lot 3 DP 50951 CFR 29F/546 and part lot 6 DP 50951 CFR CB29F/549 respectively.
The proposed lease commencement date is 7 February 2018.
