Children's day

Children's Day is a free community event which is about celebrating children. The day is about having fun, learning and gaining information. More importantly, parents and caregivers don’t have to say no, as all activities are free. 

We invite your organisation, group or school to participate in this event with options to:

  • Perform on the main stage.
  • Provide roaming entertainment or performances.
  • Promote your organisation, group or school through displays, demonstrations, sports and games.

Food vendors

Please note:

  • We will not be providing power.
  • Food vendors need to have completed CFPE (Compostable Food Packing Event) training.
  • Food vendors need to adhere to the Healthy Food Policy.
  • We may ask you not to sell certain items at the event.

 

Performers

The stage will be a 9m x 4m truck stage at 900mm.

 

Craft, activity or information stalls

Please note:

  • We will not be providing power.
  • You will be allocated a 3m x 3m space. If a bigger size is necessary, please email childrensday@ccc.govt.nz.
  • You will need to bring your own marquee which needs to be secured by guy ropes.
  • You need to provide a free activity/item for children.
  • You are not permitted to sell items.

 

Model release

The Christchurch City Council will be taking photographs through the day for possible promotional purposes. 

  • I hereby irrevocably grant to the Christchurch City Council and its assignees the full right and permission to use my photographic image in any form of media or for any other lawful purpose in relation to any promotion or communication relating to the Christchurch City Council or its activities or to any organisation that the Christchurch City Council funds, sponsors or supports in any way.
  • I understand and agree that my photographic image may be cropped, altered, transformed or reproduced in any way and may also be combined with other works or text or sub-licensed to third parties for use. 
  • I also understand that my photographic image may be entered into photographic competitions or awards, used in advertising or otherwise used to promote the Supplier’s business, and/or submitted for display at art galleries.
  • I waive any right (including all legal rights) in my photographic image that I may have to inspect or approve any product or copy of my photographic image or any related work prior to its use. 
  • If the model/group is under 18 years old, I am the parent/legal guardian and I have read, understand and approve of these terms.
Do you give model release permission?

 

Terms and conditions

By applying, I agree:

  • To abide by the rules and regulations of the Children's Day Committee.
  • I am aware that the Children's Day Committee have the right to decline my application for any reason. The committee bases priority on the following criteria: site availability, group objective, and first-come-first-in basis.
  • I am aware that I need to provide all of my own stall display, equipment, furniture and fittings.
  • I am responsible for removing everything I have brought to the event including rubbish.
  • I take full responsibility for my own safety while setting up, operating and taking away my stall and will supply the organising committee with a health and safety plan.
  • If I am providing a food stall, I understand that I am responsible for applying for a Food Stall Licence if I am a commercial vendor and complying with regulations set by the Christchurch City Council.
