Details

Zone 1: Jellie Park - Memorial Ave

  • The majority of the works have been completed.
  • There are some minor landscaping works and new line markings still to be done.
  • Multiple areas of road surface are to be removed and replaced. This will require a road closure and will be communicated closer to the time. Works in the Jellie Park entranceway will also be completed during this time.

Zone 2: Memorial Ave - Maidstone Road

  • The raised thresholds at Joyce Crescent and Hamilton Ave will be completed.
  • Cycleway construction will continue with the separator kerbs installed on the west side of Ilam Road, towards Ryeland Ave.
  • Asphalt will be laid on the cycleway on both sides of Ilam Road.
  • The signal upgrade at the Maidstone Road/Creyke Road intersection will continue, with the new traffic lights scheduled to be turned on in mid-April.
  • Existing line marking will be removed and updated line marking will be installed.

Zone 3: Maidstone Road - University of Canterbury

  • The installation of the new stormwater pipes will be completed.
  • New kerb and channel will be installed.
  • The cycleway construction will commence, along with some roading upgrades.

Due to the lack of suitable detour routes, the current on-way traffic management layout on Ilam Road between Memorial Ave and Maidstone Road will be in place until May. However, we may reduce the layout in stages when possible. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.
