Innes Road - street renewal

What

We will be repairing the chipseal road surface as well as renewing the footpath and kerbs and crossings to make it safer for pedestrians. A new watermain will also be installed to improve water supply resilience in the area.

Why

The condition of Innes Road has deteriorated and needs to be fixed. We are also making other improvements to make it safer to travel on Innes Road.

Innes Road, Mairehau from Cranford Street to Mahars Road.

When

8 January 2024 to 15 June 2024. Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6.30pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

Work On Your Road

  • The work on your road is going to be carried out in two stages. During both stages, we will maintain a lane of traffic in each direction, however, on-street parking will not be available.
  • During the first stage, we will be working on the northern side of the road (January to mid-March). During the second stage we will be working on the southern side of the road (mid-March to mid-June).

What You Need To Know

  • There will be road cones and construction vehicles operating whilst work is being carried out. 
  • Throughout the course of this project, access to your property will be available, however, some disturbance is to be expected (driving on gravel, road plates).
  • During the first stage, while driving on Innes Road towards the east, the left turns onto Jamieson Avenue, Nancy Avenue and Philpotts Road will be closed.
  • During the second stage, while driving on Innes Road towards the west the left turns onto Mersey Street, Severn Street, Thames Street, Ethne Street, Jamieson Avenue, Nancy Avenue and Kensington Avenue will be closed.
  • Work will be rescheduled if the weather is bad.
  • There may be periods of noise and vibration, we will aim to keep this to a minimum.
