What |
Replacing the tide gates that control the water flow between Horseshoe Lake and the Avon River. |
---|---|
Why |
The gates are old and deteriorating. |
Where |
The gates are located at the Pump Station, which is approximately 30 meters back from the New Brighton Road entrance way. |
When |
Work will start in October and will be finished by January 2019. |
Contact |
The contractor is Seipp Construction Ltd. Phone 423 1718 between 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Advise us if you have specific property access requirements e.g medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries, planned works. |
Activities at the station will commence at a reduced pace initially while site measurements are taken, to enable off-site manufacture of the new gates. Activity will then pick up in November as the new gates are installed.
One of the five gates being replaced will be a fish friendly gate to allow easier passage through them for aquatic life.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
