Details

We'll be doing some investigation work at the intersection of Greers Road / Langdons Road / Reynolds Avenue from Monday 25 March for approximately three weeks.

This work will help us plan the most efficient construction approach for the installation of traffic signals at the intersection later in 2024. We'll provide more specific information about the dates and traffic impact of construction closer to the time.

Investigation work is required to understand the underground service locations and condition, as well as any potential clashes or risks to construction.

Other investigation work

We recently distributed a works notice that provided information about our wider investigations on and around Harewood Road. This works notice included more information about the timeline, locations and traffic impacts of our work.

A copy of the notice can be seen at Bishopdale Library and Community Centre, or via our 'Work in your area' page: ccc.govt.nz/works (search: Bishopdale).

Traffic impacts

Work will take place Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.

The majority of the work will happen during these hours. There is the possibility a small amount of work will need to be done after 6pm and overnight. Another works notice will be issued with details if this is required, and we’ll contact affected residents and businesses directly.

Information for residents and businesses:

  • Access to properties and businesses for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained around the work
    site where possible.
  • We’ll help people get around the site. Please advise our team if you have specific requirements e.g. medical visits, large deliveries, home help or any planned works.
  • At times, we’ll need to remove on-street parking to allow space for the works, and to keep everyone safe.
  • There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, and we’ll do our best to keep this to a minimum.
  • The work will not impact on any services such as water, electricity, telecommunications and gas.
  • The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the roads. We’ll provide updates if there are changes to the planned works.
  • Please put your bins out as usual by 6am on your collection day. Our team will move them and return them if needed.

Information for road users:

  • Temporary traffic management (road cones, signs) will be installed as part of the works. There may be some
traffic delays and changes to traffic management. Please follow all signage and instructions from our team
    onsite.
  • We’ll put a number of traffic management layouts in place to keep our team safe while we complete this work. These will be a mix of stop-go signals, shoulder closures, reduction in lane widths and the temporary removal of on-street parking.
  • A 30 km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our team and everyone safe.

We know this work can be disruptive, and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding.
