| Description |
From the car park at the dog exercise park, follow the path through a wooded area with boardwalks and two viewing platforms. The second viewing platform is shaded by a large red beech tree – tawhairaunui is its Māori name. Zig-zag up through native plantings to cross Victoria Park Road and head down to finish at the Visitor Centre. The path can become very muddy in winter and after wet weather, so take extra care during this time. Wheelchair users and buggies may need to navigate a few exposed tree roots along the track.
