Victoria Park walks and tracks

Enjoy panoramic views of Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains, Pegasus Bay and the Southern Alps.

All tracks in Victoria Park and Bowenvale Reserve will be closed from 10pm until 6am on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 March for wild deer control. There will be signage in place at all major entrances.

Access

The main access points into the park are from Sign of the Takahe, the main Victoria Park car park, and Sign of the Kiwi. 

Bus routes reach as far as the Sign of the Takahe. Refer to Metroinfo(external link) for timetables.

Gates and opening hours

Gates are open from 7.30am to 7pm and, during daylight savings months, from 7.30am to 9pm.

Toilets

Facilities available at Victoria Park, Sign of the Takahe and Sign of the Kiwi.

Dogs

Outside the designated dog park, dogs are only permitted on the walkways and must be on a leash at all times. 

Volunteer

Make a difference to the environment by volunteering in the Port Hills.

Christchurch City Council along with a number of community organisations run regular working bees and planting days.
