Details

We're replacing underground stormwater pipes located at this intersection because they are old and have reached the end of their useful life.  Construction is well underway, with 40 per cent of the work already completed. The stormwater main has been installed along Brougham Street.

Night works

  • We will be starting two weeks of night shift to install the pipe across Brougham Street near James K Baxter Place intersection.
  • We need one-lane of traffic on Brougham Street to install the pipe underground and we are not permitted to do this during daylight hours due to the heavy traffic volumes.
  • This means we’ll need to dig up the road at night, install the new section of pipe then reinstate it in time for the daytime traffic.
  • We will repeat this process, section by section, as we progress with the pipe installation.
  • We appreciate that this work will generate some noise, however we will try to keep any disruption to a minimum.
  • While work is underway, please follow the traffic management signs on the site.
