Picton Avenue - South Express Cycleway

What

Construction of the South Express Cycleway on Picton Avenue.

Why

Our network of cycleways are making it safer and easier for people to cycle. More people cycling eases the pressure on our roads.

Where

Picton Avenue (northbound) will temporarily be one way traffic between Burdale Street and Blenheim Road, and Elizabeth Street (eastbound) will temporarily be one way traffic between Clarence Street and Picton Avenue.

When

Work will start on Monday 22 March 2021 and is expected to be completed by late April 2021 (weather dependent). Work will be undertaken between Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.

Please advise us if you have specific property and access requirements e.g.: vehicle deliveries, medical visits, planned work.

Details

  • We will construct the new kerbs, remove trees, upgrade the footpaths and construct the new cycleway on the east side of Picton Avenue. On-street parking will be removed for the duration of the work
  • Detour routes will be signposted so please follow the signage onsite and ask onsite staff if there are any issues
