Works are now concentrated on the west side of the Main North Road and Grassmere Street intersection, beside the Countdown building.
We’re installing two new traffic light poles, two new underground access chambers and new ducting, and preparing to lay the new footpath and cycle way surface. We need to divert pedestrians and cyclists to work safely (refer to map).
Resurfacing work has been completed. Additional sections requiring nightworks and warmer temperatures will be carried out in the summer.
The new pedestrian crossing at the Northlands/Halliwell Avenue intersection will be made operational in late August, and all pedestrian crossings and footpaths reopened except for the footpath alongside the Countdown car park.
The road resurfacing at the mall entrance will take place at night at the end of August.
We will finish resealing and line marking work at this intersection mid-August.
