Contact

The contractor is Fulton Hogan. Phone 027 604 9335 between (Mon - Fri, 8am- 6pm) or email nicole.stark@fultonhogan.com. Advise us if you have specific property access requirements e.g medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries, planned works.

We’re planning night works and need to close part of Ferry Road from St Johns Street to the Ferry Road roundabout so we can install 535 metres of wastewater pipeline.

The Eastbound lane of Ferry Road will remain open, while Westbound traffic will be detoured, with clear traffic management in place.

There will be plans in place to allow you access to your property, although there will be no on street parking on Ferry Road available during this time.

Pedestrian access will be open at all times. For the duration of the works, noise will be kept to a minimum.

These night works will be completed in a single shift from 8pm Saturday night until 10am Sunday morning, to minimise disruption to residents.

If we need to do extra work outside of these times, we'll let you know.

We’ve scheduled this work for the 29 February and we expect it to be completed in one 14-hour night shift.

This work is part of a project to connect Lyttelton Harbour’s wastewater to the main Christchurch system.

Ferry Road Detours

Here are some useful detour routes to consider while the Ferry Road pipe pull works are on.

The westbound lane of Ferry Road, from the Ferry Road, Dyers Road & Tunnel Road (SH 74) roundabout to the intersection of Rutherford Street and Palinurus Road, will be closed for 14 hours during these works. The eastbound lane will remain open.

During these works, the following detours apply:

Mt Pleasant / Sumner

If your destination is Ferry Road, use Main Road to Humphreys Road to Linwood Avenue and then onto Hargood Street.

If your destination is elsewhere in the City, use Main Road to Humphreys Road and then onto Linwood Avenue.

Use the reverse to head back to Mt Pleasant / Sumner

Lyttelton / Heathcote Valley

If your destination is Ferry Rd,  use Tunnel Road (SH 74) to the Ferry Road / Dyers Road Roundabout and then to Dyers Road and then Linwood Avenue to Hargood Street and back to Ferry Road.

If your destination is elsewhere in the City, use Tunnel Road (SH 74) to the Ferry Road / Dyers Road Roundabout and then to Dyers Road and then onto Linwood Avenue. Or consider using Port Hills Road (SH 76) .

Use the reverse to head back to Lyttelton / Heathcote Valley.
