Moncks Bay - coastal pathway



Fulton Hogan is undertaking works for the construction of the Monck’s Bay Coastal Pathway Project.


To complete the final connection of Coastal Pathway from Ferrymead to Sumner.


From 212 Main Road to Shag Rock, Mount Pleasant.


29 November 2021 to November 2023. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent)


The contractor is Fulton Hogan. Phone 0800 762 334, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm or email Contact us after hours if the matter is urgent. Advise if you have any specific access requirements, e.g. nurse/doctor visits, Meals on Wheels or planned works on your property.


  • We will be working in different stages to complete this package of work. To do this, we will start from side streets on minor street improvement works before entering into major phases which involves sheet pilling into the ocean side, rock revetment and service relocation.
  • This project  will involve some night works but advance notice will be given before that time.
  • Two lanes of traffic will be maintained wherever possible but please be follow the signs and lookout for changes for the traffic management.
  • Please let our friendly staff know if your driveway is affected and you require access, and our team will assist you with this.
  • Drop-in sessions where residents and businesses can learn more about the project and discuss any issues will be held at the Christchurch Yacht Club, 239 Main Road, Moncks Bay on:

    Tuesday 7th December – 9:30 - 11:30
    Thursday 9th December – 4:30pm – 6:30pm

    Tuesday 14th December – 9:30 - 11:30
    Thursday 16th December – 4:30pm – 6:30pm
