Details
- This project will relocate the existing bus stop #39527 60m closer to Marshland Road intersection, and move the bus stop out of the shadow of the shopping centre.
- The new bus stop location will be adjacent to the existing mall car park on New Brighton Road and include an indented bus bay which will increase space and access through the road corridor.
- The new bus stop will provide improved facilities including a nine meter bus shelter, planting, cycle stands and improved lighting.
Impact on traffic
- From late November the bus stop at the location of the new indented bus bay on New Brighton Road will be open and the temporary bus stop at 35 New Brighton Rd will be closed. Construction of the bus shelter and other minor footpath works are ongoing and expected to be completed mid-December.
- The footpath on the north side of New Brighton Road (Palms mall side) will remain closed between the entrance of the Palms car park through to Golf Links Road. A pedestrian detour on the south side of New Brighton Road will remain in place until works are complete.
Impact of work
- Traffic management will remain in place on New Brighton Road until planned works are complete in mid-late December.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
