Details

Our contractors will shortly begin work upgrading Marine Parade. This will begin with a watermain renewal and streetscape improvements. Traffic management will be in place to support this work.  From Monday 24 November, we'll have a temporary one-way system in place on Marine Parade between Lonsdale Street and Bowhill Road.

Traffic impacts:

  • The one-way system will support vehicles travelling north on Marine Parade.
  • The side streets - Bowhill Road, Rawhiti Avenue and Lonsdale Street will be closed at times.
  • A detour will be in place via Bowhill Road, Keyes Road and Hawke Street, respectively.
  • Vehicles travelling south on Marine Parade will be detoured at the intersection of Marine Parade and Bowhill Road.
  • Please anticipate delays.
  • No right turn from Bowhill Road onto Marine Parade.
  • No right turn from Rawhiti Avenue onto Marine Parade.
  • No right turn from Lonsdale Street onto Marine Parade.
  • Speed will be reduced to 30km/h through the site.
  • The one-way system will be extended to include Marine Parade between Lonsdale Street and Hawke Street after Christmas. Our contractors will be in touch with more information prior to making this change.

Property access and other impacts of work:

  • At times, access to private property will be restricted. Please advise if you have any specific property access requirements e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle access, deliveries or planned works, etc.
  • Bus stops 12150 and 12145 will be temporarily relocated.
  • At times, on-street parking will be temporarily restricted while we work in the area.
  • The works may result in increased dust, noise and vibrations.
  • Please put your bins out by 6am, as usual, on your collection day. Our team will move them and return them if needed.
  • Pedestrian access to footpaths will always be maintained with detours in place from time to time. Please follow signage and instruction of our temporary traffic management teams.
