Details
We are upgrading the traffic signals at the intersection of Cranford Street and Main North Road.
These works will largely take place during day shifts with several night shifts taking place towards the end of construction.
The works include, but are not limited to;
· Concrete and asphalt cutting
· Removal of the existing traffic poles
· Excavation and trenching
· Installation of new ducting, cables and traffic sensors
· Installation of new pole foundations and erection of new traffic poles
· Pavement and footpath reinstatement
· Concrete pouring for islands and kerbs
· Minor landscaping of islands and reinstatement of berms
· Line Marking
Advance notification of night works will be distributed to properties in the immediate work area closer to the dates that these night shifts will take place. Traffic Impacts
Lane Drops
· For the duration of these works there will be no right turn from Cranford Street onto Main North Road. Please consider alternative routes and allow extra travel time if you will be affected by this turn closure.
· Lane drops and changes will occur throughout works. Please follow all signs and directions of traffic management staff on site.
Pedestrian and Cyclist access
· Pedestrian access will be available via marked routes with signs advising where to go.
· Cyclist routes will be signposted with some areas requiring disembarkment for your safety.
· The pedestrian crossing from 147 Main North Road across to Cranford Street will be closed for the duration of works. Please use alternative pedestrian crossings at Sawyers Arms Road intersection or outside Pak'nSave Papanui on Main North Road.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
